I am very lucky to have turned a passion of mine into my full time job! Many try & few actually make it happen. Thank you universe for that. So much gratitude goes out to you :)
However, just like any other profession out there, it comes with a list of annoyances. The blogging world unfortunately isn't any different & these are the things that annoy the cramp out of me online daily ;-)
1. 75% Of Bloggers Are Bitches
Yes, you heard me correctly! Being an ex-model I have met my fair share of cut throat, will do anything to get to the top girls & bloggers you win the bitch title by a landslide! I have met a handful of totally awesome, beyond helpful & just flat out inspiring people in the short time I have been doing this whole blog thing, but most of you are just evil & some just flat out scare me, so I keep my distance. The bullying & fighting I see between bloggers daily reminds me of high school! I know all businesses are competitive, but from someone who grew up with a CEO dad & a girl who was at the top of her game in the modeling world, being mean will eventually bite you in the ass. Your fellow colleagues actually have to LIKE you to STAY at the top & I wish more bloggers would realize that.
Long story short, Just Be Nice!
2. All Bloggers Are Mommy Bloggers.
This one drove me insane for a very long time!! I started my first blog, Chef Bunny, when I was at the very end of my modeling career. Cooking was my passion so I blogged my recipes for my friends and family to read. I had & still have a crazy Twitter following so I used Twitter to market my blog. I was also CHILDLESS!!!! Yet, somehow I was a "mommy blogger" to all the brands that saw me on Twitter & they would offer me mommy blogger gigs? This literally DROVE ME INSANE! So insane I just stopped blogging all together since I had no interest in reviewing a freakn car seat! Who was going to test it out? My cat?
Now here I am afew years later, a wife & mommy, and basically rebranded myself with "The Trophy WifeStyle" since apparently being a food blogger to the brands was next to impossible if you are a younger female. I still refuse to write deep pieces or parenting advice since I'm not gunna lie, Google helps hubby & I raise our daughter lol.... But I do write about other things besides food to appease the brands & make this my full time job. I guess I just wasn't meant to be the next Internet version of Paula Dean ;-)
3. The Like Me Back Nazis.
These are the people that like amillion pages on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram & send you silly like me back messages hoping that some will like them back. These are also the same people that get mad at you and sometimes send you harassing messages if you don't like them back. Look, just because you liked my page does not mean I want to like you back. In fact, I only like back about half the blog people that like me. I look at your profile, check your recent post and bio, and decide if what you are saying is useful to me. Are you even in my niche or are you just trying to sell me something? I'm all about networking, but if you're not useful to me, no like. Sorry. Stop harassing me! You can unlike me if you like.
4. Please Don't Overdo The Kiddo Pictures On Instagram
We get it. You're a mommy blogger & you think your kids are the cutest kids ever & just like every other blogger, you use Instagram to market your site. With that said, you're also on cloud 9 during every minute you spend with them, or at least that's the message you are trying to convey to your followers ;-)
I promise you, with the way social media is going, your spawn will assuredly get his or her chance to post plenty of selfies & snaps soon enough. For now, please just share only the best or funniest photos of your fabulous family. Keep the others filed away, or better yet, share them all on a network or site that’s designed to display photo galleries, such as Facebook. Everyone knows it's hard work being a mommy & daddy. Your kids really are cute (for the most part), and your followers are proud of the little ones you're raising too. Just do us all a favor & do not overdo it & post 20 kid pics in a row on Instagram.
Same can be said to food bloggers, post the best of the day or even week, not every meal & snack.
5.One Word : CAPTCHAs
I think I can speak for us all when I say we all hate these little word recognition puzzles! Onloy the internet would ask its users to prove that they are indeed human. CAPTCHAs, designed to prevent bots from spamming and attacking websites, may be a necessary evil for celebrity sites, but it drives me nuts when smaller sites feel this is necessary. Makes me almost not want to leave you that comment! Even their inventor has said that he regrets their drain on human time. Assuming that each one takes ten seconds to solve, it has been estimated that we waste a total of 150,000 hours a day squinting at distorted letter combinations. Evidence also suggests that CAPTCHAs are getting harder, with some effectively indecipherable. Ughhhh....
6. Everything has been done before.
Have an idea? Well sorry to break it to you, but someone in Tokyo had it last year and has already posted it on every social platform imaginable. So when you see a blogger post a recipe or craft similar to one you have seen somewhere else, trust me, if they are a reputable site, it indeed is an idea they came up with or they will say where the inspiration came from, so readers stop the slamming & bloggers accept that you are not as original as you think & stop getting too upset when compared to another . A lot of blogs are online journals, so you may very well may see a lot of the same things if that topic is trendy since these people document everything relevant online. Presumably this must of also happened before social media, but in those days people could remain in happy ignorance ;-)
****Discloser ~ this was written with 100% sarcasm. Don't take anything to heart & please just laugh at the things you have witnessed yourself ;-) ****

I laughed at every single one of these because they are SO TRUE!! There is such a ridiculously high amount of drama in the blogging world and I seriously just don't understand why we can't all get along.
This list is perfection and so true! When I started my blog journey, I was going for food blogging too, but nobody cared, lol. Then, I called my kids assholes and everyone loved it! I hate the bitches too, but I have met some amazing people! P.s. I probably post too many kiddo pictures on instagram! Sorry. ;)
I so agree with you on all the above with one addition--just as you start reading a post and those annoying pop ups come up asking you to either signup for their emails--like them on twitter or facebook etc. Then I have to find that tiny little x to make it disappear before I can actually read the article-much less comment on it.
7/11/2015 04:31:42 am
LOL #3 for me for sure. I even get asked to give introductions for people I haven't met to people I haven't met. Awesome post made me laugh, I loved it.
7/11/2015 04:34:10 am
The "like me back" and CAPTCHAs drive me nuts, too. Some of those CAPTCHAs are impossible. Like, "Stand on your head, pat your tummy, multiply this by that..." No thanks, I am not that interested in leaving a comment.
I have been to a few blogger meet ups. One, the girls were nice, but there was definitely a competitive edge. Another, the girls were flat out mean and some girls made fun of me to their face. It was really frustrating because I'm a big believer in playing nice (but also meaning it).
7/11/2015 07:37:01 am
So True! There are definitely snobs in the blogging world. I also agree with the mom blogging, TMI is real! I usually can't relate to any of those types of blogs because I'm single and don't have kids. I feel like people tend to follow people who are similar to them you know?
7/11/2015 08:20:44 am
hysterical! I must not be immersed enough in he blogging world to deal with all these bitches, but that is insane! I hate Captchas! funny post.
7/11/2015 11:10:32 am
Strong words, but all true. I just recently seen how some bloggers can really be mean and hateful, and why. There's no sense in it. And there's lots of bloggers that don't want to share anything that might help another blogger out. Snobs, like voiced above. Thanks for sharing your honesty.
7/11/2015 02:35:33 pm
Haha great post! One thing that annoys me is when people post 15 pictures in one post that are all of kids or they all look the same, errr! Haha, it drives me crazy especially as a photographer to see a lousy picture let a lone several that are basically the same! Posting one GREAT picture is a better idea! One thing that annoys me to is in groups on facebook people will "like" your page and then as soon as you like theirs they turn around and delike it! So weird and pointless! Thanks for the great laugh and for sharing! Glad I am not the only one out here thinking these things! Have a FUN weekend!
7/11/2015 02:42:59 pm
That was hilarious! And quite a bit I'm finding to be true in my short time blogging. I'm glad I "met" a blogger like you that doesn't take everything, including themselves, too seriously. :)
7/11/2015 06:04:46 pm
I was laughing all the way while reading the article because guess what, I CAN RELATE. You mentioned the things that also annoy me. And one thing that really annoys me is that some bloggers blog just for the money, I can't find any sincerity in the articles they're writing.
7/11/2015 06:24:05 pm
Thanks for bringing this topic up to me. The 6 things you noted could be elaborated on even more.
7/12/2015 07:17:00 am
I totally agree with #5, lol! I also agree with #1 that blogging is very competitive. Having said that I've come across some fantastic ladies and we've actually developped (as much as one can online) friendships.
7/12/2015 08:54:21 am
This is so true, I literally shook my head yes to all of them lol. I'm a grammy blogger but I don't mind sharing kids products because I've got 5 spoiled rotten grands that love their photos taken with all of the products lol. Captcha drives me as insane as the popups do. No, I think the popups are worse. Thanks for the giggle.
7/12/2015 10:42:48 am
So I've only been blogging since January but I totally see where you're coming from. I've already met some VERY rude bloggers and it just kind of blew my mind how mean they were. But I try to just ignore the bad and press on! I like the sarcasm :) I'm very sarcastic in my writing too.
When I first started blogging back when I decided to be a stay at home mom it had been a heart wrenching thing to send my baby off to someone else to watch and go to work for 9 hours a day missing that face, pumping and having co-workers wonder why the heck I was so attached. I wrote a blog post generalizing how agonizing it , must be for moms to leave their babies in the care of another person, often strangers and I was attacked by a whole barrage of working mothers calling me all sorts of names because I said I "I don't know how moms do it?". It was taken in such the wrong way and I discovered the world of people hiding behind their screens so willing to call a mother out and tell them all their flawed thinking. I had a six week old baby at the time and was heart sick every time I left him which eventually lead me to becoming a stay at home mom. My attempt was not at all to bash the working mom, but to merely say how I identified with how hard it must be to drop your child off with someone else each day. Instead it was taken as bashing. I got so many nasty comments on that post. Since then, I'm very careful with what I write on my blog. I am very familiar with the holier than thou mommy blogger.
This blog post made me laugh! I once was putting together a large giveaway and I had one blogger who wouldn't follow directions get mad at me for emailing her so much! I just flat out said "Ok, you're out" and she got so pissy and went on a "talk crap about Lauren and Dressing Dallas" rant for a good month. Well, jokes on her because she's a small blogger and she has already been edged out of the Dallas blogging community. It's always better to be nice!!
7/12/2015 01:12:58 pm
hahaha Funny post! The capctha's are the worse!
7/12/2015 02:22:05 pm
Totally agree with you about the captcha. No one should be using that any more. But I disagree with #1 and 2. I've found the blogging community to be so supportive - and I am too old to be considered a mommy blogger!
7/12/2015 05:35:20 pm
It's honestly true, it is hard to be original since it has all possibly been done before!
7/12/2015 07:25:46 pm
Number 1 is so true. Can't agree more with you!
7/12/2015 08:41:34 pm
Oh, these are all so true! I have met a group of Malaysian bloggers and I admire how they all get along and help each other to boost their blogs.
7/12/2015 08:43:41 pm
This is so funny and true. I really can't understand why some bloggers tend to complete with each other when we can all work to help each other.
7/12/2015 09:15:17 pm
HATE Captchas - I do all kinds of things and really it is hard to say anything is completely new idea. Really how many ways can you make spaghetti sauce??
7/12/2015 10:07:52 pm
Thanks for your fun but true post today! Capcha codes drive me insane! lol I am sure every blogger has their pet peeve list of things!
7/13/2015 02:28:44 am
I love all of your points and laugh hard as I nodded in agreement with all of them. I am a mommy blogger and proud, but there is so much that is blogged about out there. Let's all be nice, and keep in mind that we are very original in our little realm and it is OK if we see something similar to ours. Always give credit and always share where inspiration comes from because you just help someone open a whole new book on something that they might not have known about and that is what truly is priceless, right?
7/13/2015 03:18:47 am
I love this list so much because it's ALL true!! I have NO kids but I am still pitched as a mommy blogger for the past 5 years! What!?!
7/13/2015 03:23:54 am
Haha, this is so funny. Esp the bit about everyone being a mommy-blogger, I hate that term too and I'm a mom. But still - blech. I promise to do better on Instagram :)
7/13/2015 04:36:15 am
So many of these! Lol! Something I thought was weird is meeting bloggers in RL. For some of them, their online presence is so friendly and outgoing, but in person, they're sort of stand offish. Theses are so funny!!
7/13/2015 04:44:07 am
Yes to ALL of this! CAPTCHAs drive me insane. I can't even answer some of the questions... which of the below are meats? Really? I can't even make out the little photos and I'm supposed to discern which is a hamburger? Ugh! OK, rant over... loved this post!
7/13/2015 09:17:03 am
I have to agree with you about the captchas! I absolutely hate them! But in all seriousness, I've actually met many nice bloggers at blogger and media events.
7/13/2015 09:45:13 am
I've been blogging for about a year and a half now and couldn't agree more! Though I'm guilty of the occasional 'Mom Post', I make it a point not to over-do any one genre. It's the bitches that get to me the most too! ;)
7/13/2015 09:51:45 am
gotta love it when you keep it real. captcha is the worst and whenever i see it i think the blogger is very inexperienced. there are other ways to block spammers.
7/13/2015 11:47:04 am
This is a great post indeed and I laughed at it all. I am not a blogger yet but will be shortly and these are totally things to look forward too. lol Thanks for sharing. :D
7/13/2015 02:54:15 pm
This is too funny! Yes, a lot of this I've seen. However I haven't found #1 to be true - maybe I'm hanging in the wrong (or right?) groups!
7/13/2015 03:20:37 pm
I share your sentiments on a lot of things mentioned in this post. For one, I cannot believe how cutthroat some bloggers can be…also mean...and how some people form cliques that like to gang up on other people. I've been lucky not to encounter anything like that personally, but I see the posts about it. And yes, captcha is annoying. What is MORE annoying is when you can't even decipher the captcha because a letter is weirdly positioned next to another, and you have to wind up typing it all in again.
7/13/2015 04:01:31 pm
I didn't realize there was some mean girl blogging going on! That's sad.
7/14/2015 04:39:22 am
I can SO relate and have witnessed nearly all these things! The only exception is that I've never really been a "Mommy" blogger, because all my kids are adults and I'm now a grandmother!
7/14/2015 09:51:27 am
I agree many bloggers are not nice. I really have only found a handful(mostly mommy bloggers) who are kind. You are definitely one of them! Thanks for always commenting nice things!
7/14/2015 02:34:49 pm
O.M.G! Cracking up over hear because this is 100% true! I'm a review blogger & childless & get called a mom blogger daily. Nothing against mom bloggers, but how can I be one if I don't have a child? Frustrating!
The Captcha's are RIDICULOUS. Thank you for pointing that out! And I'm sorry that you were pegged as a mommy blogger when you weren't quite there in your life just yet. There is more to write about a host a blog for than parenting. Good for you for successfully branding yourself. You seem to have a lot of followers and to stay busy! :)
7/15/2015 03:59:33 am
Wow, this thing about mommy bloggers annoys me too! It seems people won't even listen and just start labeling you without even taking a proper look at your content!
Wow, girl, you are gorgeous!! Love the blond hair and I love how transparent you are - life is too short to beat around the bush. You seem to have a great attitude!
11/19/2015 05:50:17 am
I'm following links this morning while I drink too much coffee and landed here. hahaha! Ya. The bitches. I got kicked out of a blogging group without explanation. I followed the rules carefully, wrote great comments, did what I was supposed to do. My crime? I'm NOT a mommy or fashion blogger. Shame! Shame on me! I can laugh about it now but I was really angry when it happened. pffft Didn't need them anyway. ;)
