If you live in Western New York, I’m sure every time you have a bestie head to Buffalo they rave about their experience dining at 716 Food And Sport. If a Sabers game is taking place, good luck trying to score a table without a reservation since this sports bar is right next door! I’m ashamed to say this, but I had NEVER been. I have so many favorite restaurants in Buffalo, that I just never made it to that side of town to dine. Unless you’re at Canalside or the Harbor, it’s just out of the way. Two weekends ago, as most of you know, we had the pleasure of working with The Big Bounce America and the event just happened to be steps away from 716 Food And Sport. It was finally my time to see if all the hype was real! 716 Food And SportNamed for the Buffalo area code, 716! This sports bar is definitely an attraction in itself. With a wall of screens at the main bar, TV monitors in every booth and on every wall (70+ total in the entire restaurant including the restroom). No matter what sport or team you are rooting for you’ll never have to wonder what the score is or miss a goal. The atmosphere is loud and boisterous, even on non-Saber Game days with two levels of seating and an outdoor patio! Whether you come pre or post game for a beer or good eats, 716 Food and Sport is sure to be a fun time if atmosphere is what you’re looking for! What to Drink? It’s a sports bar so I’d go for a beer! If I wasn’t working media for The Big Bounce America the day we dined at 716 Food And Sport, I would have enjoyed one of there many beers off of their extensive craft beer menu!!! 40 different beers, 20 on tap as well as many specialty drinks and cocktails. Something for everyone & all drinks, even the non-alcoholic ones come in snazzy 716 glasses! I almost purchased one off of their merchandise menu. Kid’s MenuIf you have been a reader of The Trophy WifeStyle for awhile, you know kid’s menus can make or break our dining experience. My daughter is one picky eater, which is shocking since I’m the biggest foodie you will ever meet. She doesn’t even eat meat, unless you count hot dogs and pepperoni meats. Safe to say 716 Food And Sport passes the kids menu test! Normal, kid friendly food options. I have never understood why restaurants exclude grilled cheese! Every non-meat eating kids favorite and ridiculously cheap to make. Vegetarians are trendy after all. You would think there would be more non-meat items. Bravo 716 Food And Sport for the safe kids menu options. What to Eat?As you can see, the menu features regular bar fare, but with local twists like, Bison Chip Dip, Perry’s Ice Cream, Buffalo Mac & Cheese, Buffalo Wings & Beef in Weck! Love the local touches!!! What I Ate?I started with the French Onion Soup, which was a special of the day. Honestly, I wouldn’t order this soup again. It’s a good thing it was only a special because besides the yummy cheese part, the soup was just ok. Nothing to brag about. For my main course I had the Beef on Weck & Wings combo meal & so did my husband. When in Buffalo, one must eat Buffalo native foods right? The wings are definitely tasty – not dry and shrivelled like you get at other sports bars – and served with a choice of sauces. I figured that 716 Food And Sport would have to nail the wings to call themselves 716! However, the Beef on Weck Sandwich was the part of the meal that made 716 Food And Sport a place I would dine at again! Slow roasted, sliced, roast beef with au jus, piled on top of a salted Kimmelweck bun! I make some killer Beef on Weck myself, so I have pretty high standards when it comes to this delicious sandwich. 716 Food And Sport nailed it! I would definitely recommend dining at 716 Food And Sport next time you’re in the Buffalo area! Plenty of beer, delicious food and a fantastic kids menu. You won’t regret it :) Let’s Chat! What types of restaurants are your favorite? The Recommended Posts widget will appear here on the published site.
