Where o where did summer go?!?! Crazy that the kiddos are already back in school! To say goodbye to summer and hello to all things back to school, my daughter & I thought it would be fun to throw one last epic shing ding before hitting the books!
I don't know about your little girls, but my Lil'Princess is currently in the all things girly stage. I swear most days she really thinks she is just that, a princess! Being a girly girl myself, I'm totally embracing her love for all things foofy & sparkly since I know this won't last forever. With my luck I will be throwing a monster truck party next year instead of the Second Annual Camp Glam. I'm savoring every moment possible of this fabulousness!!!!
Camp Glam was pretty easy to set up! People always assume parties have to cost hundreds & take hours of sweat & tears to set up, but I'm here to tell you that places like the Dollar Tree & Oriental Trading are your party besties! You will be in shock when you realize how little you have to spend on total Pinterest-worthy awesomeness! Just look at what my daughter & my besties daughter set up! Total fabulosity on a budget & so easy peasy to set up that kids can help & feel involved in the whole party planning process!
I don't care what kind of party you are thowing, One of the most important details is food! I'm convinced as long as you serve total deliciousness, your guest will leave raving about how awesome of a hostess you are since there belly's are full! So when it came to Camp Glam, yummy, yet healthy foods that kiddos would eat were a top priority!
We decided to put butterflies on a log on our Camp Glam menu because unmm cuteness overload!!!! How can a kiddo turn down an edible buttefly?!?! They can't! Even the moms enjoyed this yummy treat!
The next thing that made our menu was a Sunflower Cheese Platter. I don't know what it is about yellow cheese, but I have yet to meet a kid that doesn't love yellow cheddar cheese. Put white on a tray, 50/50 chance it will get eaten, yellow?! I promise you the whole thing will be gone in minutes.
Simple to make as you can see! Just take deli slices of cheddar and slice the cheese into triangles. Then fill the center with grapes :) totally kid friendly!
The next treat that made it's way onto the Camp Glam menu were CLIF Kid ZbarĀ®! CLIF Kid snacks are nutritious, made with organic ingredients, no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors and are crafted specifically for active growing kiddos!!!
The Chocolate Chip variety is my daughters absolute favorite! What I really like about CLIF Kid snacks, is that they feature nutrients that active kids need in flavors they crave. No reason to settle with junk when your kiddo has a cookie craving since CLIF Kid has cookie flavors with all the nutrition they need!
Of course we had to also provide entertainment at Camp Glam! Now that the girls were fueled up after devouring the yummy snacks, they jumped away in the bounce house for what felt like an eternity! CLIF Kid is all about encouraging kiddos everywhere to get back outside, push their boundaries and feed their adventures. CLIF Kid has made it one of there tasks to help reclaim play for kids everywhere!
Since I'm a total creative, just look at my site! I'm all using your imagination, so the next activity the girls had to partake in was a little bit of dress up! We purchased wings & boas at the Dollar Tree & the girls had a total blast playing "Fairie Princess Unicorn"! I have no idea where "Fairie Princess Unicorn" came from, but it was beyond adorable watching them run through the yard playing & using there imaginations!
You can't be a "Fairie Princess Unicorn" without a crown, so the girls made themselves some! Peeling stickers is an awesome motor skill activity regardless of age, so not only were the girls making there "Faire Princess Unicorn" looks that more fab, they were fine tuning there motor skills as well!
As much as I love how technology helps our society, it truly does kill me that play is disappearing in our homes, schools and in communities due to electronics. 70% of moms, me included, spent most of there days exploring the outdoors when they were kids, but now only 31% of their kids play outside today. Our kiddos would rather play indoors with their noses buried into there iPads then actually use their imaginations. I strongly believe balanced and active play lays the foundation for a skilled, healthy, resilient and successful society, so I will continue to try and encourage imaginative play as much as I can!
CLIF Kid considers play to be especially important as our society addresses obesity, the need to improve mental health and wellness, and aims to build creative and successful future generations.
Our last activity at Camp Glam was make your own Lipgloss. It was easy peasy to make & totally girly for the girly girls!!
All you do is take coconut oil, mix it with a teaspoon of sugar, 1 packet of kool-aid & a splash of water!
Camp Glam couldn't have been more fab if you ask me!!!! The girly girls got to embrace there girly-ness all while using there imaginations & doing what kids do best, play! This party definitely created some awesome memories! You will see us thowing Camp Glam 2 next year, as long as my daughter is still all about the girly stuff!

I love how all of this turned out!!! The bouncy castle, the clif bars, the BUTTERFLIES on a log!!!! Oh my gosh. Of the snacks, my kids LOSE their minds over Clif bars and, like you said, YELLOW cheese is their fave. White cheddar they'll eat. Yellow hits the spot big time. Go figure.

"I will continue to try and encourage imaginative play as much as I can"..awesome statement, love it! It's reality kids nowadays prefer to stare at the screen of their Ipad or laptop than go out and play. Technology is good, but somehow isolates us from the world outside.

That looks like a super fun party. I so agree with you about yellow cheese and kids. Now my daughter has developed a palate for fancier more expensive cheeses so she doesn't fall for the yellow anymore.
