I was one of the unlucky people when I was Preggo that had a million teeth fall out! Thankfully they were all back teeth that you can't see when I smile, but still ughhhh....I felt like a freakn hillbilly!!!!. I swear my dentist got a big chunck of his paycheck from me having to rebuild teeth.
Unfortunately since I wasn't a lotto winner I had one tooth fixed & rebuilt at a time. It use to suck really bad when I would get random tooth aches inbetween visits! I swear nothing is worse than tooth pain! I seriously would rather give birth than deal with a sucky tooth!!!
I tried every home remedy I could find on google and nothing really worked. Then one day I tried oil pulling & haven't had a tooth ache since! I even still oil pull because well my teeth look pretty fabulous do to it's whitening benefits ;-)
What is Oil Pulling?
Oil pulling is an age-old remedy that uses natural substances to clean and detoxify teeth and gums. It has the added effect of whitening teeth naturally and evidence even shows that it is beneficial in improving gums and removing harmful bacteria!
The basic idea is that oil is swished in the mouth for a short time each day and that this action helps improve oral health. Just as with Oil Cleansing for the skin, the principle of “like dissolves like” applies, as oil is able to cut through plaque and remove toxins without disturbing the teeth or gums.
The practice of oil pulling started in India thousands of years ago, and from my research, was first introduced to the United States in the early 1990s by a medical doctor named Dr. F. Karach, who used it with success in his medical practice.
How to Do Oil Pulling:
The concept is incredibly simple. Basically, a person swishes a couple teaspoons of coconut oil in the mouth for 15-20 minutes & then spits it out & rinses well. Oil pulling is best done in the morning, before eating or drinking anything, though Dr. Bruce Fife suggests that it can be done before each meal if needed for more severe infections or dental problems. Personally I always do it at night before I go to bed ;-)

I can't believe you lost teeth while pregnant! That sucks big time! It's good to hear oil pulling helps with tooth pain. I've always just done it for white teeth and hygiene. Thanks for the post though because I've been wanting to get back into it.
I have never heard of teeth falling out while pregnant!! Did they just get loose and like wiggle out or was it like you had a tooth floating around in your mouth when you woke up in the morning?!?! How weird!!! I am glad you found a natural product to remedy you pains!! I have heard many great things about oil pulling and if given the chance, I'd give it a try :)

Thank you for allowing me to learn something new! I had never heard of this product and will be checking it out further soon!
I've been oil pulling for years. In fact I've written 2 blogs on oil pulling in the last week. One on how effectively it will remove plaque and very quickly and another on how effective it is in draining the sinuses. Folks will be surprised to know it isnt bad at all. I also use Coconut Oil and love it and I only swish for 5 minutes. It's true 15 to 20 minutes is recommended but absolutely not needed. I sometimes swish while I run and make the bed ... or ck email or some quick chore...Just so you don't swallow any of it because it removes toxins and you sure don't want to swallow that yuck :-) I was glad to run across this post. I rarely see anything on oil swishing ....so thanks

I have read several articles about this. I don't know if I could keep this in my mouth for 20 minutes without swallowing.

OMG YOU INCREDIBLE PERSON YOU FOR SHARING THIS! Thank you ever so much! I totally HATE tooth anything and pain most of all. Granted I wear partials, but what I have left I'd like to keep without pain, and without dental whitening. I'd much rather do it myself. I've so got to try this. Thank you so much. :)

I LOVE oil pulling! I do it at least once a week, sometimes more, and find it disgusting only when it's on my lips now... otherwise, it's like nothing. My teeth are so healthy now :)

I haven't tried oil pulling and I'm a bit hesitant to do it. Maybe, I'll give it a try one time.
