Once a week I will be reviewing a popular “drug store” makeup product & review/rating as if it were one of my “holy grail” department store products. Maybe I will find cheaper, wallet friendly dupes for my high end favorites! Ratings 1-10. 1 being garbage. 10 being holy grail So I know it looks like I have taken a few weeks off from my drug store holy grail search. Truth is, I haven’t had the greatest luck. My very first post on L'Oreal's Voluminous Superstar X Fiber Mascara was a success in my book. Unfortunately I had total beginners luck! The next few weeks after. Uhhhhh!!! So many products not even worth a mention. I was beginning to get discouraged and run right back to my high end makeup reviews. Don't worry! I will be doing a "Don't Buy" post once I get a post-load of garbage products so you don"t make the same mistake & purchasing crap like I did! Then it happened. I decided to buy Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous since one of my favorite YouTube makeup gals shaaanxo raved about it in one of her tutorials. Let me just say, total game changer!!!! From Covergirl Get insta-gorgeous with Ready Set Gorgeous! This liquid foundation's oil-free formula provides medium coverage to even skin tone and cover imperfections. The result is a flawless, natural look that lasts all day. The built-in powder system fights against shine, pulling oil and sweat AWAY from your face instead of trapping them under your foundation. Pair with the entire instaGLAM collection for a glam look on the go. My Thoughts Initial Thoughts: Buff Beige was the best fit for me and blended very well on. It’s a creamy foundation that you squeeze out of a bottle. My favorite types of foundation bottles are the squeeze bottles. I wish more brands would make them.
No foundation lines was another huge plus. The color stayed true all day and did not oxygenate (turn orangey) on my skin which was a huge plus!!! The shades I spotted in the store were all very true to skin tone. No weird tones that had you thinking do people even have that color skin besides the cast of Jersey Shore? Coverage: With one layer of Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous you get medium coverage. Perfect for everyday life. The best part about this foundation is that you can build it up! Feeling rough?? Add a second layer and you will reach full coverage. The coverage stayed all day until I washed my face. I could feel the makeup on my face, but it didn’t feel too heavy or mask-like. The texture was extremely smooth and blended easily. The Upsides: When I wore Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous to run errands one afternoon, people told me my makeup looked beautiful. The cashier at TJ Maxx even told me my skin was so glowy and wondered what I was wearing! Rule #1 for how to get on my good side, COMPLIMENTS. Flattery when it comes to my makeup or wardrobe choices will get you everywhere with me. Shallow is my middle name ;-) The Downside: I can’t really think of anything. That’s how much I freakin loved this foundation! Overall Grade: I can’t believe a foundation that only cost $5.99 at Walmart is about to get this score, but I’m giving it a 9. That’s right, a freaking 9!!!! The coverage and finish for everyday life is just fantastic!!! I’m a full coverage type of girl with Mac & Urban Decay foundations holding those 10 spots, so I never thought I would love a medium coverage foundation. I just love how you can build it up!!!! I would never wear this foundation for a photoshoot or a date night since I like to look over the top for those occasions, but you best believe if you spot me grocery shopping, at the school picking up my daughter etc, I will be wearing my new everyday holy grail foundation! Just look how used that bottle looks and it’s only a few weeks old!! It’s getting a lot of love from me. I recommend Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous 100%. Oh my gosh, I haven't used Covergirl in YEARS. It was literally my go-to makeup brand as a 13 year old haha! But you've convinced me that I need to try this foundation out, I can't believe what a steal that is!
