Disclosure ~ This is a sponsored post with mums the word network & Doctor on Demand. All opinions are my own! One thing that totally sucks about my princess being in preschool is all the yucky germs! I know they say it's better for kiddos to be exposed now & build immunity etc... but ughhhh....I swear every week another sickness is going around & nothing is worse than being up all night with a sick & cranky toddler!! It can be pure torture for everyone in your household! Another thing that can suck is when your kiddo is acting sick & claims they are absolutely dying, but how can you really be sure? Toddlers can be very dramatic, well at least mine can be ;-) & to top it all, if you're anything like me,google can be your worst enemy!! I swear every time I type in symptoms, all of a sudden my princess is diagnosed by doctor mom with some rare disease only 5 other people on earth have ever had!!! Long story short.... Do you really bundle everyone up & make a trip to the ER in the freezing cold snow to see if your child is really dying of this rare disease?!? Or do you just give a dose of Tylenol & a sippy of OJ & hope it goes away? Well my friends I have the best solution to this problem EVER!!!! Doctor On Demand! Doctor On Demand is a healthcare service that provides Video Visits with board certified physicians, psychologists, and lactation consultants via your smartphone, tablet, and desktop computers. All you have to do is download the FREE Doctor On Demand app on your smartphone or tablet or visit www.doctorondemand.com on your desktop computer. When you schedule your appointment, you will be asked to provide a list of your symptoms, then you are instantly connected to a provider licensed in their state for a video visit! So instead of bundling up & venturing out in the god awful cold to get medical advice, you can just hop on your smartphone or tablet & talk to a doctor LIVE & also get prescriptions if needed. Pretty awesome if you ask me! To access service you can download the Doctor On Demand App on a smartphone or tablet or desktop computer, provide a list of your symptoms and be instantly connected to a provider licensed in your state for a video visit. ~~~My Opinion~~~ Doctor On Demand ROCKS!!! I wish something like this existed when I was a kiddo. I always hated those late night trips to the ER! Being able stay home to get medical advice from a doctor is a HUGE benefit in my opinion. I absolutely love the option of being able to do a video visit with a doctor instead of in their office. I would rather NOT take my princess that is running a fever out in public to spread the germs. Will I be using Doctor On Demand? Yes! The service costs about the same as my insurance co-pay & is wayyyyy less expensive than a typical ER visit. Oh, my daughter would be wild about this app. And I'm never sure if that's a good thing or not. She constantly asks to have her temperature taken. Maybe we have a doctor in the making. Thanks for the information!

This is actually so interesting because it allows you to tap into your preferred doctors. I wonder though if the human interaction is lost...then again so many are doing video conferencing nowadays. It probably will be okay. :)

This is seriously the future!! :) i especially hate the waiting rooms in doctor's offices. i feel like i'm getting sicker in there. I hope I get to start using this soon. It will come in so handy if we're on the road for the year.

This is such an interesting idea for busy moms like me. I know that sometimes I dread taking my boys to the doctor in the dead of winter in Chicago because I know the waiting room is just a cesspool of germs, especially with a measles case confirmed through my pediatrician's office. Glad to know that we are using technology to help our kids' health!

I've seen this before on a tv show talk about this. What a great use for an app. This would be good for us here, because we're 20 minutes from the closest doctor's office and over a hour away from the nearest hospital.l

I think this sounds like such a great service. I like the fact that there are four different doctor types available so you're really getting a doctor with knowledge in the specific area you need help and advice from. The fact that it's all from the comfort of your own home is such a winner with me.

I have two sides to this. I think as technology is advancing that this is pretty cool and really great for quick questions and such. If you want to know what rash or something is. I rely do think this can help a lot of people. However, I have a love/hate relationship. I feel like with each passing day we are losing more and more human contact and well, it just sucks. I still think this is a great service!

I know exactly what you mean about Google being your worst enemy. Every time I Google my symptoms I convince myself that I have any number of a dozen diseases ... all fatal! LOL I think Doctor on Demand is a great concept, especially for parents of young children. My daughter has two little boys and between the two of them, it seems like they are always in the doctor's office.

I would definitely love this! It would be great to have a doctor to chat with. Most times I just try to google things and hope I am right and that they go away. If it's really imporatant I do go, but this would be awesome!

I've heard about this app before, but I didn't know exactly how it worked - thanks for the awesome, detailed description - it sounds incredible! The health care industry in general has not integrated well with technology in some ways because of conflicting policies of various parties, so this seems like an incredible step in that field.

I have to admit that germs was the first thing I thought about when the girls started school. I kept them at home with me as long as I could.... When they get colds and coughs, I'm cringing. These idea is awesome.

I really wish that my mom would have had this when I was a little kid. I often got sick but it was never really that serious--we ended up either going to the hospital and spending a bunch of money or not going anywhere and waiting for it to get worse. I think this is a also great for new moms or just moms that don't have the time to wait at the doctor's office.
