This post is sponsored by SleepBuddy. Regardless, all options are 100% my own. I have always bragged about how my child is a fantastic sleeper! One of the many reasons I’m a one and done mama. I know if I had a second child, I would most likely birth an early riser. The odds of scoring two children that love sleep is just too high to risk. However, once my daughter started kindergarten things slightly changed. My daughter still loves her sleep, but she’s on such a routine that on weekends and during school breaks she still thinks she needs to wake up bright and early. That sunshine beaming through her windows makes her think it’s time for school. Even on a freaking Sunday -_- This mama hates mornings more than anything. Waking up ridiculously early when you have zero reasons to even be up is my definition of a nightmare. So you best believe I was searching for the perfect solution to our early rising issue so our household could go back to our lazy, sleeping in weekends. Sleep BuddyOne random afternoon I received the best news ever! Sleep Buddy wanted us to try out their new sleep gadget. When people try to tell me things like the Law of Attraction not being legit, I like to tell them stories like this. Like wholly cow. This product landing in my inbox after me dwelling on sleeping in solutions is proof the universe was listening & was here to give me the answer! What Is Sleep Buddy?Sleep Buddy is a fabulous gadget that helps your child transition from a crib to a bed OR to help those kiddos like my daughter, that are already sleeping in a bed, but may not be staying put throughout the night/morning. The system works in the most child friendly, easy to understand way too! When the soft blue light of the Sleep Buddy system is on, that means you stay in bed. When the light goes off, that means they can finally wake everyone up in the house. How simple is that? AgeThe Sleep Buddy system is geared towards children between one and a half to six years off age. The perfect sleep solution for my 5 year old! The creator of the system developed the Sleep Buddy because in her words “if the kids don’t sleep, nobody sleeps!” Which is the truest statement of all times! As much as we like to think we parents are in charge, our kiddos do dictate our hours of sleep -_- A huge benefit to the Sleep Buddy system is that not only do the kids get the sleep they need for proper growth and development BUT mom & dad also benefit by being able to be better parents with improved moods and well-being because they can now enjoy uninterrupted sleep. And in our case lazy Saturday & Sunday mornings! Our Thoughts?Sleep Buddy was honestly the answer to our prayers! Who knew a simple little light that turns on and off would be the solution to our problems. When the Sleep Buddy arrived, I let my daughter open in up like it was a gift. All kids love gifts. The packaging even looks like a gift & in this case it really did deliver the best gift of all, sleep! Once she had the box open and played around with her new light, we read “Bedtime Surprise” which came with the light & explains how the light works to kiddos in words they can comprehend. I wasn’t sure if she could wrap her kindergarten mind around the concept of the system, but I am happy to report that she picked up on the light and how it works instantly! After a few days, of getting the light routine down, my daughter was now a pro. The real test came that following weekend & I’m happy to share with y’all that the system really works man! It really really works! No 6:30 wake up calls from the 5 year old! Tip!I suggest starting the light training on days you know you need to be up early. In our case we started on a Monday. That way my daughter had 5 whole days to get the light routine down before the big test of sleeping in on Saturday came around. This is a really neat concept! I actually have just put a piece of paper on the wall with "rules" but my sons just don't listen to it anymore. They run into my bedroom talking my ear off WAY too early in the morning on weekends. During school days, early wake up doesn't matter. I think I will try Sleep Buddy! It may help them to not come wake me TOO early every weekend!
