Did you know March is National Reading month? Reading has always been a passion of mine! I just loved getting lost in a paper bound adventure when I was a kid. Heck, I still do and thankfully my daughter has the same passion.
However, there are kiddos, even adults out there that can’t stand the site of a book. My hubby just happens to be one of them. He even admits that if reading was a bigger part of his childhood he may actually enjoy a story or two once in awhile. He didn’t enjoy reading as a child since he found the activity “tough”, so it was never pushed on him. It can be hard for some of us to imagine a life where we weren’t surrounded by books, so having a whole month where we can focus on the importance of reading can be so important for those that think they “gave up” on those books. We can even change a few kids lives focusing on the joys inside those bound pages. Echo Dot Kids Edition
Since I believe reading should be enjoyed by all & not an activity we let our kids give up on the first sight of a struggle, I thought I would tell you about how YOU can get your kids to read more with a very handy reading tool, Amazon Alexa. Amazon Alexa just happens to live inside your child’s Echo Dot Kids Edition!
Echo Dot Kids Edition has completely transformed the way we look at reading in our household!!! Alexa can provide a fun and educational experience for kids. There's just so much you can do to spice up reading time when your kids have the help of Alexa. Never a dull moment when Alexa’s in the house!
Kids have access to age-appropriate audible books! That’s right, unlike Mommy & Daddy’s devices, Echo Dot Kids Edition is filtered with FreeTime on Alexa that lets parents select which services and skills their kids can use. You can also turn off voice purchasing, and more. You can also find features like educational Q&A, Magic Word, and kid-friendly suggestions when kids start screaming bored with regular ole’ story books.
Parents can also manage their kids’ experience on Parent Dashboard—same as FreeTime on other devices! I swear after one day of having an Amazon Echo Dot Kids Edition in your home, you will be asking yourself how you ever went without one! Makes keeping your kids motivated to read a breeze!!!! FreeTime on Alexa
After reading all about the fabulousness that is the Echo Dot Kids Edition, I know a few of you Amazon newbies are thinking, what the heck is FreeTime on Alexa?!? FreeTime on Alexa may just be every parents dream!!!! Have a kiddo who loves to read? FreeTime on Alexa will keep them occupied!!! Have a kiddo struggling with those words?!? FreeTime will help your kiddo out!!! With over 1000 Audible kids’ books offered on FreeTime on Alexa, your child will never be bored!!! The best part of all!?!? Thankfully my daughter has always loved reading... probably because I have always read to her since she was a baby!

That is a great idea! I use Alexa quite often but never thought of using it that way!

Oh, dear - motivating my kids to read is NOT a problem we have in our house. If anything, we have to get them to STOP reading. (To be fair, I was the same as a kid LOL!). But this is great to know for those with more reluctant readers - great tips!
