Believe it or not I'm usually not the type to get behind subscription boxes!! Most of the time you end up getting a box filled with nonsense with maybe one item mixed in you actually like. I swear I get pitched weekly to try some sort of beauty box, but once the PR rep writes back that the boxes are not custom & even worse... The products are sample sized, I just have to decline at that point! No need to fill my already overflowing drawers with more junk I don't use no matter how much you want to pay me to claim that your box rocks. Then one day the wine gods decided to pay me a visit & blessed me with one fabulous pitch! A wine subscription from the folks a Glassful! Now this was a subscription box I could get behind 100% since I have yet to meet a bottle of wine I totally hated! To start, when you sign up for Glassful, you take a quiz that helps determine your taste in wine. Glassful’s sommeliers then pick your monthly wines based on your quiz results. That's right, the box you receive is totally custom to your taste buds!!! No need to worry you will get sent a box filled with cough syrup when your palette is more fruit cocktail! Myself? I prefer the cough syrup, so I requested reds & dryer white wines that I could sip on rather than chug like apple juice. Glassful also strives to consistently deliver “unique, organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines.” So you don't have to worry about recieving a discount wine or something from the cheapo rack at the liquor store! You can also skip a shipment at any time if you happen to be low on funds one month! Glassful allows subscribers to choose how many bottles of white and red wine they would like to receive in each box (all red, for example, or 2 reds and 1 white), but the actual bottles are always a surprise. I’m pretty openminded when it comes to wine, so I was excited to see what Glassful would pick for my first shipment! Cost: $54-$100 depending on what level you choose, shipping included Products: 3 bottles of wine Ships to: All states EXCEPT AL, AK, KY, MS, NH, PA, UT My Shipment 2011 Terra Bella Proprietary Red Blend The first bottle I received is a red blend from Sonoma County, California. It’s a Bordeaux blend, and the inaugural release of this wine (2007) received a whopping 95-point rating from Wine Enthusiast. The “Sommelier Notes” for this wine describe it as “showing bright cherry and cassis on the nose, with hints of violet, tobacco, leather, and dark chocolate.” While it’s fine to open up this wine now, Glassful’s sommelier recommends aging it for a few years. I rarely earmark bottles for aging, but I’m going to give it a shot with this one! 2012 Jeff Hill Pinot Noir This is another Napa wine. Pinot Noir is always a welcome sight (it’s my all time favorite!), and this one did not disappoint. It was very fruity (lots of berry and plum flavors) and had a solid earthiness that balanced out the fruit. 2013 SHANNON RIDGE SAUVIGNON BLANC Quintessential Sauvignon Blanc from California! Aromas and flavors of grapefruit and melon are underscored with subtle spice and juicy acidity. This wine definitely over-delivers for this kind of price. Super clean and fresh, there's a nice lift of mouthwatering, crisp acidity in the finish that carries the day! My Thoughts?!?! This was my first ever wine subscription box and I must say I was left extremely impressed with the quality of the wines I received. People like to pick on me and call me a wine snob, but it's not my fault that the cheaper, twist top wines give me headaches! No headaches with these wines so that tells you straight up the wines Glassful sends out to their subscribers are made correctly & with quality products! The Pinot Noir was beyond delicious, the Terra Bella Blend ended up being the favorite out of the 3 which was a shocker since I'm Pinot obsessed!!! & the Shannon Ridge was a nice change from my usual reds!!!! I also really like that every box is a a complete surprise matched to your pallet. A subscription box filled with mystery bottles forces you to broaden your palette & to try wines from new vineyards. I should also mention that the value of the bottles I received was extremely impressive. $85 of wine in a $54 box? Now that's one killer deal if you ask me! If you're someone who buys more wine than they would like to admit, a subscription like this is not only a yummy choice, but a financially smart one as well! Let's Chat! Are you a member of a wine subscription service?

Not all wine with a twist off is headache waiting to happen! The one winery I will never not be a member of recently began using twist offs for the wines that are intended to be consumed within the next 3-5 years with the old fashion corks being saved for the library wines perfect for holidays and special occasions. ;)

I am sure this is something my husband would enjoy. He is a member of two different wine clubs and gets 5 bottles a month between the two. I will have to let him know about this one!

I've tried a few wine subscriptions and really liked the wines that were selected for me. I love trying new wines at all price points. If you're a big wino, you should check out The Wine Show on Hulu. It is amazing.

The wine subscription box sounds like a great way to test and sample new wines. I personally don't drink a ton of wine. I don't like it to be dry tasting.
