Raise your hand if people like to randomly show up at your doorstep for surprise visits!!!
I can't be the only one with friends showing up out of the blue expecting a few days of fun with there bestie. As much as I love company & entertaining, the obsessive planner inside of me kinda has a panic attack every time this happens. Being the queen of entertaining takes a tad bit of stocking up & legit meal/activity planning. I know the internet makes my extravagant dinner parties look like something I snapped my fingers & whipped up in a few minutes, but honestly a lot of tears and sweat went into those events, so surprises such as my long lost bestie expecting Instagramable fun kinda throws things off a bit.
That's why I started creating Guest Bathroom Baskets a few years back! My surprise guest might have to wait a few hours for all the fabulous food and activities to be organized by yours truly, but atleast the guest bathroom is fully stocked and ready to go! One less thing I have to panic about ;-)
Being someone who has traveled a lot in her life, there is nothing worse than making that quest to your dream destination & having to search for an open store because you forgot a few toiletries at home. That's why I make sure to stock the most common toiletry items in the basket for my guest to use as they please. The basket is big enough to store these items, yet small enough to stick in a closet when not being used. I want my guest to feel comfy and like they are in there very own home when visiting & this little basket definetly adds that little touch of homey comfort!
Because I love you all so much I included this cute little printable at the bottom of the post for you to download & print out so you can stock your bathroom for your surprise guest! The best part is all of these items can be found dirt cheap, so making a guest bathroom basket will only cost you a few bucks! I bet you even have half the list sitting in your bathroom right now. I know I always have a few spares of things laying around! Why not put those items to good use?
As you can see I gave toilet paper it's very own line on my list! As silly as toilet paper might sound, I swear it's the number one thing you never want to run out of!!!!!! Nothing worse than not having toilet paper in your own home, so imagine how your guest would feel when they reach down to the roll only to realize every last square has been used!!! This guest might be your bestie, but I guarantee they will be slightly humiliated if they have to send you a text asking you to send up a roll. This is the very moment your guest will be thanking the universe for your handy dandy Guest Bathroom Basket since a spare roll is sitting inside of it!
is what is what we stock our house with. I pick Quilted Northern® because it is a trusted 100-year-old brand. A brand around that long has to be good or else the brand would of died long ago! 100 years is a very long time! Quilted Northern®Ultra Soft & Strong® with Cleanstretch mega pack offers you the opportunity to keep your home fully stocked and organized at all times so that you’re always ready for that unexpected bestie. Mega is also a 4X bigger roll (*than their regular rolls) so you’re not worried about refilling the roll! The best bathroom experiences are the ones you don't remember. Quilted Northern® is designed so you can forget your bathroom experience.
You can pick up the 9 pack Mega Roll of Quilted Northern® Ultra Soft & Strong® at Walmart. Just look for the asle sign that says toilet paper, in the back of the store here in Jamestown NY.

Such a great idea! So welcoming to someone too. It's always awkward when you're staying somewhere and don't know where anything is, this makes it 10x easier to feel welcomed and comfortable :) xo

I always try to go the extra mile in making my guests feel comfortable in my home. I always put together a bathroom basket and a basket on the nightstand filled with bottled water, mints, etc. And I always stock up on toilet tissue.

This is the best thing! When we got married the wedding planner suggested I assign this task to a friend and I pass on that advice to everyone I know who gets married. Her list was even more detailed to include safety pins, sewing kit, deodorant, etc. I still have basket my SIL made in the guest bath and it has saved even me more times than I can count. I make a point to check the basket against the list when guests are expected so I know they will be comfy and have everything they need.
