That awkward moment when you buy the cheap L.A. Colors $3.99 Pixie Nails and you end up liking them!!!!
Yes, this really happened. It had been YEARS since I last purchased a set of glue-on nails. Possibly my early 20’s?!?! But I was in a huge nail jam. My daughters school canceled due to snow that we never ended up getting, which meant nail appointment canceled!!! I had somewhere to be that evening regardless of snow & knew pictures were going to happen. I needed a nail solution and painting my own nails was not going to cut it. They looked like crap from having acrylics ripped of off them the day before.
So I did the only thing I could think of and headed to the beauty aisle at my local Walmart. Since I was looking for a nail that only needed to make it through the night, I decided on the $3.99 Chrome looking nails. Chrome is still totally in here in WNY, so I was hoping that the chrome would hide the fact that I glued my own nails on.
I put them on as soon as I got home & boy did they look fabulous! My daughter and I then ran to TJ Maxx & Sally’s Beauty and omg. Complements galore. I swear every person that laid eyes on my nails was saying how gorgeous they looked.
After having my self esteem boosted from all the non-stop complements, I did what any girl would do, posted a photo on Instagram. Over 1,000 of you liked the photo & 76 of you even “saved” the photo, so it’s safe to say they were a total hit!
The real question I bet y’all are wondering is “did they last?!” Honestly, they lasted about 3 days before I decided they needed to go. The glue was way better than I remembered from years ago. Not one nail fell off in 2 1/2 Days. Once that 3rd day hit, that’s when my nails started to fall off. Look dingy etc. The L.A. Colors Pixie Nails are definitely something I would recommend for a night out or for a special occasion. They get the job done. I wouldn’t wear these on a vacation or for a long period of time since they only hold up for about 3 days. But for only $3.99, they are one of the better investments you can make. Two thumbs up from me! The Recommended Posts widget will appear here on the published site.
