“This post was sponsored by Doctor On Demand as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central.” Need Medical Advice Over The Weekend? Is you Doctors office closed? Does the ER sound like a complete nightmare on a Saturday?!?! Is the weather to obnoxious to trek out in? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, I have the ultimate solution for you! Doctor On Demand. Doctor On Demand is a free, downloadable app that allows you to meet with a board-certified physician, psychiatrist or doctorate-level, in the comfort of your home, through your iPad, tablet or phone! Each medical visit costs $40 and most healthcare plans have begun to cover Doctor On Demand completely or partially. The icing on the cake? The average wait time to meet/see a Doctor On Demand physician is usually only 3 minutes! Yeah, take that ER two hour wait time. Doesn’t Doctor On Demand sound like a dream come true compared to that? I know what you're thinking, of course this is what Doctor On Demand wants you to think, but is it true?!?! Well unfortunatly for us, but great for you guys, my lil' princess did recently wake up one morning sniffling and coughing her life away. Being a preschooler, my daughter is zero help when she's not feeling well. My child could literally be puking and still claim she is well enough to attend school or her weekend playgroup. We had to learn this lesson the hard way one morning when my daughter convinced us she was fine only to get a call from the school nurse stating she was actually NOT! Definitely a huge embarrassment for my husband & I & something I refuse to ever let happen again. The only solution to finding out if this non-stop coughing & sniffling is somethings as simple as a cold or something more serious such as the flu or even an allergy issue is to call the doctor! With it being Sunday and living in a small town we were convinced the ER was our only solution. Then it occurred to me, Doctor On Demand! I immediately grabbed my iPhone since Doctor On Demand is available though iTunes & downloaded the app. I then made an account & picked a pharmacy close to my house just in case any online visits result in a script needing to be filled. I then selected the type of Doctor I would like my daughter to see. Unfortunately in NYS we couldn't speak to a pediatrician, but a medical doctor could easily help diagnose my daughters issue. The process really is this easy peasy! It was then time to choose my doctor! This was the part I found to be most impressive! When you go to Urgent Care or the ER, you get whoever may be available. With Doctor On Demand I got to CHOSE the doctor. I'm more comfortable talking to female doctors so if I'm ever feeling under the weather I can choose a female. Since we were searching for a doctor for my daughter, I read each doctors bio & found that DR.Alspecror not only specialized in family medicine, but was into holistic medicine as well (something I'm majorly into) so we went with her. Then we chose the time she could see us & thankfully for us she had an opening in 30 minutes. So we booked the time slot and waited for her to give us a buzz. DR.Alspecror buzzed us at 4:30 on the dot! The appointment pretty much reminded me of a FaceTime chat. DR.Alspecror talked to my daughter & I and could visibly see her runny nose and heard her coughs. Since she didn't have any other signs of an allergy she ruled allergies out and recommend a day of bed rest, honey for her cough & cold meds to help my daughter sleep. Nothing too serious since we cought this early on. The appointment took less than 15 minutes and totally gave this mama peace of mind! Doctor On Demand can diagnose other things besides illnesses as well! They can treat allergies, asthma, skin issues, acne, and even provide prescription refills. Perfect if you need a refill while on vacation and you're not near your local pharmacy.
If you would like to try out Doctor On Demand, I may just have a $10 off discount code for your first visit! Use the code TROPHY10 the next time you need to chat with a medical professional! So let's chat!!!! Have you used Doctor On Demand? Does talking to a Doctor in the comfort of your own home sound like something you can see yourself doing next time you're feeling under the weather? We have used this service before and it's awesome. It's super convenient when you can't get out of the house.

I have a colleague who I convinced to use this and he did. One of those stubborn guys who'd never see a doctor. Turned out he had some issues and that prompted him to go actually go in - it's a great service. Sometimes convenience is all you need to take the first step toward better health.

This is such a good idea, I think it is so important not to just turn to google when you are ill. x

I absolutely love this idea! Being able to chat with a doctor from the comfort of your own home saves time, money AND energy you probably don't have because you aren't well!

I have never used this service, but I have heard a lot about it and would definitely consider using it. Having a little one, and caring for a disabled family member can be draining enough, but trying to load up everyone in the car and do simple things like doctor's visits can be a job in itself. This would make my life so much easier I think.

I had heard more doctors offices were offering video appointments, but not of this service. Definitely seems convenient especially for moms.

I love this idea! So simple, no matter where you are, you have access to a physician. That's a good thing and it seems to be pretty reasonable!

Doctor on Demand sounds great. And that's fantastic that you were able to get help for your little one -- and that it wasn't anything too serious!

Oh! I love this! Although I don't like that the doctor can't take my temperature or listen to my lungs, etc. But I'd take a doctor rather than none at all!

Services like this are getting pretty common and there's no denying why! It's really very convenient especially for stay at home moms. I love that you can call a doctor any time you want without leaving the house.

I love this type of service. I hate taking my little ones in when sick because I don't want them to catch something else or spread their germs. I just wish there was a therapist on demand!

I am completely in awe over this. I've never expected technology to help us out like this. I'm expecting a lot of hearsays about the disadvantages of this one but to save one's life isn't a situation where we have to think about negativities. The most valuable thing you've said about it is the response time!

I love that you get to choose your doctor -- that's such a cool aspect. I have a coupon code for DOD and I am sort of anxious to use it even though I don't ever want to wish sickness on myself!

I had a feeling that a service like this would happen eventually. Sounds like an awesome resource!

I have such conflicting feelings about telemedicine. On one hand it seems more convenient, cheaper for the patient, and could easily help lower the rising costs of healthcare. On the other hand, how accurate can a doctor really be if all they can do is look at you on a web cam? They can't run any tests, perform any exams, or even check your vitals.

I have never heard of this app, but that really isn't anything new. I am not really "up" on all the latest apps available these days. I think I will wait & go to my Doctor, though, since an office visit is only $5.00. If I am really in dire need, I can go to the ER for $50.00.

It seems like nothing ever happens that requires a doctor or a vet at our house unless it is after hours or on a weekend. This looks like a great service.

Now this would be a great idea! Here in Canada we can call health link and talk to a nurse to get medical advice but they almost always send you in to see a doctor. We have found a great walk in clinic that works with our doctors office so it helps for evenings and weekends. We don't have anything like this here in Canada!

This is a service that I wish I'd had when my daughter was really little. It will for sure come in handy because kids get sick and sometimes packing everyone up to go to the doctor's office is just too much. It sounds like your little girl LOVES school so there's the silver lining in the fact that she claimed to be well enough to go to school.... my daughter hates missing school too.

Great app! I haven't heard of it before. I don't know if I can find a similar one for my country or if I can use this one, but I will definitely check it. It's very helpful to be able to talk to a doctor, when you need one. Most of us usually search the internet to find out what we may be suffering from, but this is dangerous and misleading most of the times.

That is actually really smart! I know a lot of people who need medical advice but just don't have the time to spend hours at a doctor's office or ER. I will check this out thanks!
