Omg yay!!!!! Finally a chance to post something foodie!!! I need to stop waiting until last minute for deadlines so I don't end up with a week full of well, non foodie post! Food is my true love after all. shhhhh just don't tell my hubby ;-) I'm a member of a Cast Iron Skillet Facebook Group, which is really just a group of about I want to say 200,000 cast iron enthusiast. Basically all the members just post pictures of there foodie creations or pictures of the skillets themselves. Pretty neat if you're into that kind of thing. Then one random day a little old lady posted a family recipe for creamed corn. Honestly I had never even thought of making my own before, so when I saw her recipe and how simple it was, I just had to make it. One of the few recipes I've ever found on the interwebs too that didn't need me to alter it. It was 100% perfection.
I asked the lady if I could use the recipe for my post since I was in love with it and I think she thought I was nuts. She was like I don't even have to credit her at all. But that would be totally wrong so shout out to Jan for having the best Creamed Corn recipe EVER! I will definitely be making this again on Thanksgiving :) Enjoy! I had no idea such a group exist. I grew up on an old fashion skillet and some of the absolute best meals are made with them. I mean what is good corn bread without a good skillet.

My mom makes the best creamed corn in the world. She starts with fresh corn from her garden and cuts the kernels off herself. She freezes many packs so that every time we visit she can make us corn. I tried to make her recipe once and it was an epic fail. The recipe you shared sounds much more doable and looks delicious. Thanks, Jan! :)

I love my cast iron skillets but I'm not a fan of creamed corn at all. My daughter has been begging me to make a skillet brownie; I can't say no to brownies.
