When I sit back and reminisce about my childhood, my Grandmothers dedication to her family is the first thing that comes to my mind. She was the one person in my life that was always there for me. It didn't matter how busy she was or how far away, she would drop anything to be their, show her support or even lend that shoulder to cry on. All I had to do was ask.
My Mother was one of my Grandmothers 5 children. My Mother being one of the youngest & the fact that my Grandparents were career oriented folks before deciding to start a family, made my Grandparents the "older parents". So as you can imagine, by the time I graced the world with my presence, my Grandmother was pretty darn old, regardless of how young her soul may be. Most people my age, like my hubby, have Grandparents in their 70's, my Grandmother is well into her 90's.
My Grandfather passed away when I was 5. It was that moment that my Mother & her siblings promised my Grandmother that they would doing everything in their power to keep her out of a nursing home. One of my Uncles even moved into my Grandmothers home once she started using a walker to move around.
Once you hit 90, you're living on a very tight budget regardless of how much money you tucked away throughout the years. Heck, once you hit 90, unless you were a lotto winner, you're lucky to have much of a savings left at all. That's a lot of years of spending regardless of how smart you were with your cash!
Since summer is right around the corner, my daughter and I decided to help the family out by taking a little financial strain off of them & made a fabulous caregiving gift basket filled with things my Grandmother will actually need this summer like new flip flops, sunscreen, a new sudoku book, and a package of TENA® Intimates™.
We even came up with a fun theme. Orange You Glad It's Summer! My Grandmother can now use her hard earn cash she saved throughout the years to order whatever fabulousness she might be eying in one of her favorite catalogs since my daughter and I took care of the summer basics!
It comes to no surprise that most seniors deal with leakage issues. Regardless of age, we all know that one unexpected leak is one too many. Thanks to TENA® incontinence products for women, my Grandmother can Keep feeling like her confident self with protection for that Unexpected Leak™!
Designed for comfort and made for performance, TENA® incontinence products let you do the things you love, without missing out on any moment or experience. My Grandmother never has to worry about missing out on a family moment or feel like an inconvenience ever again since TENA® empowers consumers to keep living their lives to the fullest.
TENA® Intimates™ include an extra soft top layer, that quickly wicks fluid away from the skin keeping you feeling intimately fresh and clean! TENA® intimates™ also helps to maintain your skins natural protection with their exclusive technology!
While shopping for all the gift basket goodies, my daughter and I headed to the health section of our local CVS and picked up a package of TENA® intimates™Ultimate Pad Reg 33ct to include in grandmas basket since they offer the same great absorbency with Triple Protection now with ProSkin Technology™! One less item my Grandmother and the family will need to purchase since my daughter and I took care of it!
If you want to earn big on all your caregiving gift basket items, I suggest heading to your local CVS today where you can Earn $4 with the purchase of one TENA® intimates™ product using the ibotta® app that you can download in the google or apple app store! That's a $10.99 price point – which is a $4 rebate!!!! WooHoo to saving money!!!! **while supplies last**
Orange You Glad It's Summer!
Since the TENA® intimates™ package happens to be orange, my daughter & I thought an orange, summer-y theme would be fun!! My daughter is 5 & crafting is her go to activity for fun. Since all my daughter wants to do is create all day every day, she decided to make a sun craft with construction paper and dipped her hands into orange paint to make a sunshine with her hands since everyone loves refrigerator art!
While in my craft room, we also discovered that Hawaiian leis fit perfectly around the package of TENA® intimates™ to make the package extra festive!
To add a personal touch to my Grandmothers caregiving gift basket, my daughter thought it would be fun to get extra crafty with the "basket" part. We took a plain ole box we had laying around and my daughter took an orange dot paint marker and dotted away! A fun and easy peasy way to get your child into caregiving!
Other fun items we tossed into my Grandmothers gift basket are
A Sudoku Puzzles Book Tooth Brushes Flip Flops Pineapple Cup
Freeze Pops
Butterscotch Candies Nuts Sun Screen
Q-Tips
Nail Polish Hand Soap Deodorant
The hardest part of this whole project was figuring out how to fit all of my Grandmother fabulous new items into the box! Talk about real life Tetris! We might have gone overboard, but my Grandmother is worth every penny after all of her years of caring for me.
After we situated all of my Grandmothers goodies, we then took that sun craft my daughter created and lightly taped it to a crafting stick to use as decor for the gift box! We just sucked the stick behind the large items and the sun craft added that touch of fabulosity & extra personal touch!

I love your care package. We did something like this for my mom at Christmas. She drinks bottled water and all of us bought her a case, plus the bulky items like cases of paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, all the heavy items we didn't want her to carry in the winter. I love this idea and will have to duplicate it for my mom!
