I know, you're probably thinking "Omg here we go! Some CourtneyLynne crazy talk!" But seriously, I feel this way all the time & this post kinda makes you go hmmmm! Not to long ago I tweeted something a long the lines of me wishing I had the opportunity to learn coding as a kid. I may be a millennial, but I'm on the older side. Computer anything besides basic keyboarding was still only optional when I graduated & with the key word being optional there, you best believe I did not partake in any such class. Now fast forward to the present and all those people I thought were total nerds for taking optional computer classes, you guessed it. They are the ones ruling the world. Joke was definitely on me especially since my career as a blogger would be far more spectacular if I had already known the coding trade & didn't have to teach myself daily! The very next morning after tweeting said tweet, I then log onto Facebook as soon as opened my eyes since fb is my version of the morning paper & what do you know? I see a "sponsored" Osmo ad. The ad explained how Osmo teaches young kids coding! I kinda had a wtf moment, but then realized the ad probably picked up words I had typed into the Internet (Twitter) and kinda moved on from the strange wtf internet staking moment. So a few hours after I had my WTF moment I then get an email from Best Buy asking about my interest in possibly reviewing Osmo! I told you this story was creepy! After texting hubby all of this craziness, only for him to think exactly that, I'm being crazy, I decided to let my daughter give Osmo a try! Once Osmo arrived it was time for some fun! The cool thing is Osmo is way more than just coding! It also teaches things like math and spelling which is more my daughters level since she is still pretty young! My daughter is obsessed with letter and number combinations (obviously doesn't get that from me lol) so she was instantly hooked! It actually amazed me on how well she caught on! She's definitely a party pants & cuter CEO! She loved Osmo so much that the first day this thing was in our house, lets just say it was quite the battle to get my daughter to put the thing away to go to bed! Since I'm sure Osmo can do a way better job at explaining all the fabulous things this system is capable of, just keep on scrolling to find out how much fun your kiddo can have learning! OSMO Genius Kit Overview- Learning through tech and touch ● Osmo game system changes the way children interact with their iPad by opening it up to hands-on play. ● Allows children a fun, exciting, and creative way to explore science, words, art, numbers and more ● Designed for anyone aged 6 and up, this educational toy can be enjoyed by nearly everyone in the family ● Games are specifically designed to foster creativity, problem solving, and social intelligence skills ● Set comes with 5 games Words, Masterpiece, Tangram, Newton and Numbers Games ● Compatible with Apple iPad 2, 3, 4, all versions of iPad Mini and iPad Air, iPad Pro(9.7) ● Set includes mirror +sturdy base +game pieces +5 game apps in the Apple App Store (free download) ● Suggested for ages six and older, Simple setup ● US MSRP $99.99 OSMO Genius Kit Apps / Games Develop confidence with numbers Kids play math without the pressure of time or the fear that they’ll get the wrong answer. Osmo’s real-time feedback lets kids learn through experimentation in a stress-free environment. Real Tangram pieces, full digital experience Arrange tangible puzzle pieces into matching on-screen shapes. Play with a friend or challenge yourself to more advanced levels as your handy-work lights up with each victory. Word fun in puzzle form Be the first to guess and spell out the on-screen hidden word by tossing down real-life letters faster than your friends. A related picture gives the clue. At this point I bet y'all are wanting one of these fabulous systems to ween your kiddos away from those god awful egg unboxing videos, but also wondering how big of a headache Osmo is to set up. Nothing worse than complicated kiddo toys hence the reason the egg videos win some battles ;-) Honestly, Osmo assembly is easy peasy! All you have to do is attach the mirror to the camera of your iPad and then slide the iPad into the base. Then just go to the Apple App Store and download the apps for all five games. Once the apps are downloaded, you can choose from Words, Masterpiece, Tangram, Newton and Numbers Games. We started with the numbers game and from the first moment my daughter was hooked! So if you are looking for a way to motivate your kiddo to keep on learning all summer long now that teachers aren't around to get on their cases, Osmo is exactly what you're looking for! With games that are specifically designed to foster creativity, problem solving, and social intelligence, I would suggest heading to BestBuy.com to order yours today!

While a young millennial, I'm strangely awkward when it comes to computers and totally oblivious when it comes to coding! I love opportunities for kids to play with coding and/or robotics... It's a great way to get them into creative technology, not just...wasteful technology.

I think it is great for kids to have opportunities to learn coding as well. It's important for kids to be equipped to deal with today's technological times.

This kind of reminds me of Tiggly which my own daughter has been using since they were introduced on the market. Very similar and she loves it. Not so sure I'd be picking up Osmo because I'm currently trying to get her off the iPad and not love it more.

I think this is a great idea. I know lots of people want their kids "off" electronics, but unfortunately this is the society we are in. The more they can do the better. Looks like fun to me.

My boys go to a charter school where they teach coding - how lucky are they? They do love practicing at home though and Osmo would be PERFECT for them! Maybe they can teach me then, too!

There's no denying that technology is a huge part of a kid's childhood these past few years and it's good to incorporate it with their learning. These activities will make learning more fun while they also get to use their gadgets! That's awesome!

It's really more of the IoT of things, Internet of Things. The internet gets ideas and collate it and this is why when you tweet stuff, it suddenly appears on your facebook because everything is connected. Also the power of the attraction.

I was just talking to a friend yesterday about how I wish I had learned more tech things when I was younger. I homeschool my son and am determined to introduce him to things like coding, graphic design, and web design because those are very profitable fields. This app seems cool, but I don't have an iPad.
