Duck is seriously one of my favorite foods! I grew up eating it so I don't think of it as something strange at all. I remember my family even made the infamous "turduckin" one Thanksgiving & I personally thought it was pretty tasty. My hubby however omg! The first time he saw me order duck at a restaurant he about died. He thought it was the grossest thing ever. I told him it tasted just like turkey or chicken just 1000 times yummier. He didn't believe me though and even refused to take a bite.
now fast forward to us now, being married and all that fabulousness. I finally got him to try my duck & you know what? HE LIKED IT! Yup, he really really did!
Since hubby is now a duck eater like the rest of my family I decided since it's Christmas time I would make a duck for dinner so I could share my recipe with y'all.
Christmas is also the best time of year to buy ducks, so if you like what you see, you shouldn't have any issues finding ducks at stores for decent prices. I know I struggle other times of the year finding ducks in my small town ;-)

My husband was totally weirded out when my family tried to get him to try duck a few years ago at Easter--ever since that day he's asked for it during the holidays! Would love to try adding some spicy orange flavor to our traditional duck recipe--thanks for the inspiration!

I have yet to try duck but I just might now! This actually looks really good. I've always loved cooking but it can be hard to know if my favorite recipes are actually healthy or not. I found a great tool on Registered Dietician Sofia Abdelkafi's website that analyzes recipes and has been a big help to me! You can check it out here: http://sheismynutritionist.com/recipe-analyzer/
