This is a total impromptu post that I wasn't even planning on blogging! So please bare with my story telling lol.... I'm just going with it since it is such a fabulous idea and all ;-) .
My daughter and I literally just got back from a trip to good ole Walmart. While doing our shopping we happened to pass the milk section and of course there it was. A half gallon of GREEN MILK! My daughter just had to have it & me being the festive person I am, totally agreed that she indeed did need to have this green fabulousness!
Unfortunately for her when I went grab the milk I discovered it was mint flavored -_- I don't know about your three year old, but mine is definitely not a fan of mint. She then got really upset & I was definitely bummed for her. She finally tries to get festive about a "holiday" and then bam, the universe steals that festivness from her.
It was then that it hit me! I could just make our milk at home green with food coloring! The even better part was it was "free" since we already had everything at home! Nothing better than that! The Mint milk travesty ended up saving us money!
So we went home and literally started making green milk! It came out so fabulous that I grabbed my camera and some props and decided to shoot this for y'all on the fly!
So there you have it folks! Green Milk!!! Toddler friendly & mommy and leprechaun approved!

Before I whip up a batch for my kids...have you found a brand of food coloring that doesn't stain teeth? The last thing I need is for green teeth before a cheer competition!

What a nice idea. Our ELF on the Shelf, Sprinkles, always turns our milk green. She turns it into Elf Milk at night. So silly. It's funny because my husband wont drink it because it grosses him out. Lol.

My kiddos would think this was just the best thing ever! I am going to have to try it with them
3/15/2016 11:24:50 pm
I remember doing this for my kiddos last year. They thought it was great but told me the milk was not that great in taste (totally all in their head)
3/15/2016 11:40:04 pm
I so wish there was a way to make things green without having to add all the food coloring every time, but I guess a little won't hurt once a year. :)

this is so cute. I think any time we can make something more fun for our kids - it's totally a win & this is definitely a WIN! ;)

When I first saw the pic I was wondering immediately how you made it the color green. And the word 'food coloring' was in my mind, but I thought you may have added something different. I love food coloring! Makes everything look fab!

This is such a great idea. So easy too! I love that food coloring can change the color of anything. Such a great idea for St. Patrick's Day!
3/16/2016 12:37:33 pm
Now that looks like fun to make for St. Patty's Day. I have seen that green milk, but we just dont like the mint so this is a great option.
3/16/2016 01:34:33 pm
What a great idea. It is so true so many of the flavors for St Patrick's Day are mint. Love your idea!

3/16/2016 03:06:36 pm
hahaha. this reminds me of something that happened many years ago when the first Hulk movie came out. They came out with green hershey's syrup. I made chocolate milk with the syrup for my oldest when he was just a little guy. That night he was really upset because he had pooped and it was bright green! He was freaking out. So don't be alarmed if kiddo's poop is green :)

Oh, this is fun! And what a great way to satisfy a toddler, too!

My littlest has been wanting to turn every food green since his K teacher made him Green Eggs and Ham. I bet he'd love green milk. Mint flavored milk? I love mint and milk separately, not so much together.
3/16/2016 04:27:05 pm
Hmm, I've never thought of making green milk. This looks yummy!
3/16/2016 04:57:06 pm
haha Isn't that funny how they pull kids in just by changing the color of something? My mom used to make us our own green stuff for this holiday when I was little as well. always loved it!
3/16/2016 08:42:15 pm

3/17/2016 10:13:40 am
I just made some 'green milk' but mine was dairy-free! My daily smoothie is made with coconut milk, and I add spinach and avocado, which obviously makes it green!
3/17/2016 10:44:25 am
SO FUN! I can't wait until my little guy is older so we can do things like this. Right now milk is just a sippy cup obsession. Thanks for the inspiration!
