When most people hit Vegas they think of booze, gambling & crazy nightlife! I don't know if it's because when I was modeling I was in Vegas quite a bit, but when I do Vegas these days I'm all about the food, shows & the awesome shopping & I HATE shopping, so that tells you how fabulous the shopping really is! For many years I had always wanted to do one of the helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon that you see advertised everywhere, but I was always with the wrong group of people (models & ex's) & that was the last thing on there agendas so I never got the chance to go :( As you can see I was just as big of a nerd then as I am now. I wanted to learn and explore while others wanted to booze it up. The saddest part about it was that a group of playboy bunnys could of totally pitched an idea and gotten a tour like this for absolutely free with all the social postings we all did everywhere we went & none of them still wanted to try & go -_- Getting a free bottle of Dom at a night club and sitting around it while on our phones pretending like we were having the time of our lives was apparently more fun -_- So the last time hubby and I were in Vegas I made sure that a helicopter tour was the first thing on our to do list & found Sundance Helicopters online! If you watch the Bachelor Sundance my sound familiar since apparently they filmed an episode afew months after our tour with some of the cast :) Honestly it was one of the coolest experiences of my life & I have traveled all over the world! Not going to lie, it is pretty pricey. Tours start around $295, but it's seriously one of those experiences you will always remember & talk about for years. I'm all about experiences & to me those are the things that matter most no matter what the price may be ;-) The tour starts out pretty early for a Vegas trip. I believe our hotel pickup time was 7:45. They did however pick us up in a limo, which is pretty common for any tour you book in Vegas. I always think it's a fabulous perk when companies pick you up & you don't have to arrange your own transportation! You know you can't miss your tour! When you finally get to the airport, which is right off the strip, you will be escorted into the building where you will have to fill out amillion waivers & show ID. I was pretty shocked to find out this company was actually GIANT & had amillion helicopters doing amillion different tours. So you will have to wait for abit in the building until it's time for your helicopter to board. To give you a better idea of how many helicopters we are talking about. We were on number 69! Thankfully we didn't have to wait for 69 other helicopters to board, but we did have to wait for quite afew. No biggie though. The good thing about this is that the company is pretty big meaning they are reputable! Which is huge when considering flying! Once in the air your tour will start off taking you over alittle but of the strip. The Grand Canyon is the opposite direction so you will just get a glips of the end of the strip. You can book a strip tour if you are wanting to see more from the air. This was plenty good for us! The next totally awesome landmark you will fly over is the HOOVER DAM! So cool to see it from the air!!! Hubby legit had the best seat on that helicopter! And then you will finally start making your descent into the Grand Canyon after about an hour of flying :) Once there you will enjoy a super cute champagne picnic lunch :) Of course out all the people flying out we were with abunch of people on our helicopter that spoke very few words of English so we didn't really speak to the other people during lunch since hubby and I don't speak a word of French lol. We all did try at first and it really was a lost cause. We didn't understand them at all and they didn't understand us very well lol. You will then get 30 minutes to explore and take all the pictures you want before heading back to Vegas! Hubby & I were seriously in awe the whole time! Like is this even real life?!?! Did we really just fly here ina helicopter?!?!
Coolest thing EVER!!! http://www.sundancehelicopters.com/grand-canyon/grand-canyon-picnic/ The Recommended Posts widget will appear here on the published site.

I think helicopter tours are so much fun. I've been on a couple, and they're wonderful. Everything looks so much different from up in the sky.

What great fun. This will be on my list of things to do in Vegas. My husband has his private pilot licenses and has been on helicopters bunches of times, but I never have. Love the add touch of the picnic lunch.

How fun! A helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon sounds AMAZING! I've always wanting to do a helicopter tour. There are a few helicopter tours here in Chicago and they are actually decently priced (I've seen some on Groupon for like $150!) <3

We had the chance to do a helicopter tour when we visited Hawaii and it was simply amazing! i'm going to add this to my bucket list for the next time we go to Vegas. I agree with you that those girls should have wanted to do more exploring real life than be buried in their phones at some club. Sounds like you are making up for it now anyways!

I did this trip! It was so much fun, except that I thought it would be all romantic and wonderful, only my husband just wanted to talk to the pilot!! I finally got him to go for a walk with me and all was forgiven. Fun!

One of my long time besties (we met in 6th grade) spent many years of her life living in Vegas as she was a makeup artist for the showgirls. While she loved it and had such a great time, after a while it really started to wear her down and she couldn't wait to get out of there. But, I still want to go visit for myself and take a helicopter tour. How fun!

I love Las Vegas, I haven't been there awhile and it's about that time to go back! Price wise actually that is comparable to how much they charge to swim with Dolphins in Cancun! :-)

I can vouch for a helicopter ride. Its an entirely different experience and every one should try it, at least once. I did it in Colorado and we loved it. The swiftness of a helicopter cannot be matched by any other plane. Fun thing they even provided picnic for you guys :)
