A few weeks ago, my family had the chance to visit National Harbor. While exploring all that the area had to offer, we had a chance to take a spin on the incredible Capital Wheel at National Harbor. Ever since the Capital Wheel opened, Instagram has been flooded with photos of the wheel. Just take a peak at the "popular" page an chances are you will spot the thing with some girl posing infront of the wheel in a flowing gown! If all the Insta-Famous folks were giving the wheel glowing reviews, claiming the picturesque view of Washington DC from atop the area’s unique Ferris Wheel was a bucket-list worthy experience, you best believe my family was there to experience all the awesomeness as well!!! With 42 climate controlled gondolas, the Capital Wheel takes comfort to a whole new level! Is the weather on the chilly side? Is it raining? Is it a blistering hot summer day? The best part about planning your Capital Wheel excursion is that you don’t have to worry about the weather or temperatures at all!!! Each gondola in the Capital Wheel is air-conditioned and heated, so you can ride in comfort year-round. So relax, turn on some tunes, and enjoy the 12-15 minute ride. Did It Live Up To The Hype? Yes!!!! We were definitely NOT disappointed with our ride. The sky was beautiful and full of color since it had rained for about 10 minutes before the sun started to set. Once the rain stopped, we left the Gaylord where we were staying and headed to the Capital Wheel! We couldn't have had better weather luck if you ask me when it came to the photography side of things! We also had the perfect bird’s eye view of the Nation’s Capital and stellar views of the harbor itself! I would highly recommend a visit to the Capital Wheel! Exploring National Harbor is one fabulous way to spend a weekend with the family since there is something for everyone to enjoy regardless of age and, catching your breath on the Capital Wheel is the perfect way to round out the day. Flight Deck National Harbor’s Capital Wheel is also home to a ground-level lounge called Flight Deck. Wheel passengers can even take a glass of bubbly along with them to sip and enjoy the view! If you ask me, with the touch of a little booze, the Capital Wheel would also make a fantastic spot for sunset cocktails, date night or a celebratory event with friends. The Capital Wheel is open daily, year-round. Tickets, plus tax:
Are you pregnant? Traveling with with a baby or small child? The Capital Wheel is a safe and slow ride for people of all ages and conditions so ride away! If you're making National Harbor into a day trip, paid parking is available throughout National Harbor. For more information, visit nationalharbor.com/directory-parking. This looks like so much fun! We have one similar in Orlando, but my husband won't get on it with me because he is so afraid of heights.

What a fun experience! I love the view you had of the boats. I am a scaredy cat, I don't think I can do it.

This looks so fun. We were in the DC area several years ago, but we haven't been to Baltimore with the kids yet.

This is only about 3 hours from me. I always see the Wheel when we travel down south on 95! I've always wanted to detour to go!
